If your club wants to do business online you will need a Credit Card Service provider. Getting one is cheaper and easier than you ever imagined! Taking credit cards is the first step in a successful online store.

   Mardi Gras clubs, krewes, and when they get going on it, main line groups, should soon be able to do business online when their websites come up later on this year. Those websites are quite capable of producing substantial income when done properly.

     Unfortunely, a lot of krewes that are already online either don't have a clue that a website store could tremendously impact their bottom line or just don't care! I'm betting they don't have a clue! 

 I watched several businesses, that sell Mardi Gras beads, dolls, plush toys, cleaned out nuts and other novelty items,  go from an average of about $2940/mo to about $12,690.00/mo,  just before I was forced to quit monitoring the books. I see no reason why any krewe can't do the same with a little know how. Several krewes now sit idol with their sites while they go hungry for the funds they can generate.

Once they do get with the program however, they soon discover that they will need to find an online payment service to handle their credit cards transactions.

 Credit is the one thing each member of your club and the general public will expect from anyone now engaged in an online business. Please remember that your club is in business, it is not a dirty word nor is it bad for your club to take advantage of any opportunity to fill it's coffers 

Their are more than 9 online payment centers that are able to handle the task without taking a whooping transaction fee. One such center is the PayPal system, owned by ebay. Paypal has made it their niche market to aid the small businesses out there and takes one of the least amounts of the purchase.
