Next Issue is in March!

The Entire State of Louisiana & the entire U.S. Gulf Coast have now been merged into one region!

The Events
Mardi Gras events incorporate more than the Festivals, throughout New Orleans, the entire state of Louisiana,  the U.S. gulf coast, and across the U.S. This celebration has been described, as the most varied, yet, comprehensive set of events of its kind in this part of the world.  The events we will cover will encompass the preparations for the annual 600 + Parades  throughout the streets of Louisiana, Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Washington, D.C. and parts of Arkansas, and Georgia.

During times, other than, during the Carnival season, times were, that an estimated 21,725,000 visitor's visit the Gulf Coast of the U.S. During Carnival season, that number swells to more than 56 million as the celebrations begins to get underway.

The locals, that either want to attend or actually do attend, varied venues and neighborhoods celebrations from Treme' to areas along St. Charles Av. in New Orleans,  to the Strand in Galveston Isle, to the beaches of Panama City Beach, Fla, and wharfs of Tampa Bay,  are all looking for places and people that can tell them where they can see a REAL piece of Carnival. Mardi Gras in action!

They find it in, Second Lines, Mardi Gras Indians, Brass bands, fundraisers, practices, and other events that are of interest to tourist and locals alike. Since Katrina, the events are still taking place, but at a much reduced rate. We will cover the damage to these venues and other areas not covered by the national media and watch these areas regain their footing.

Visitor's and displaced evacuees, that seek to participate in these events, are literally starved for some source of information,  that is industry and  locale specific. They are indeed looking for a printed source, that covers these events, businesses, and especially the people, that keep this culture alive and thriving. This small digest, will now cover these venues and so much more!

   The Magazine

To answer the calls for an industry wide, business to industry, as well as a, business to public periodical that looks to disseminate valuable, time saving, cost saving, information to the industry as a whole, and, to it's fan base, we now present the grass roots publication, entitled,

This New Carnival / Mardi Gras Magazine Journal, was proposed by some inside leaders of the industry as a badly needed component, a communications vehicle, to perform certain duties, such as, put out the call for volunteers, alert vendors to new opportunities, new products and to read reports from others, who seek to identify and resolve issues and offer working solutions, to actual and/or long standing problems.

Just as the reveler's have, the infamous, Mardi Gras Guide as their program, to the two week celebration in New Orleans, this magazine would be for the captains, presidents, and board members of any krewe, or any organization that has the celebration of Carnival as it's main purpose, to allow them to exchange ideas on what's happening, known industry problems, and the solutions that are working for them, that can be used on a Gulf wide region basis as well .

Not only that, this new Magazine is primarily an opportunity, to provide timely information, provide essential articles, provide exposure and substantive discussions and editorials, about the Ball Only organizations, the Social Aide & Pleasure Clubs, Indians tribes, Brass bands and other often overlooked elements, such as the many obscure walking groups, dance teams, marching bands and more that are out there. Of course, there will be the occasional update and reports from those krewes, who do keep us abreast of coming events in their preparations for not only, the upcoming Carnival season, but all their yearly events.

The Business Side of Carnival

Also our other target audiences, small and large vendors, businesses that need to prepare, and of course the local & city governments out there.  We'll carry information about the hotels, and motels on the gulf coast. We will strive hard to let incoming revelers know what's new and what they’re getting for their hard earned money in the upcoming season. (Mardi Gras accommodations are usually up to 60% sold-out by this stage - so the magazine is a must-read), The digest will help industry business and clubs concentrate on planning , so your members can have access to the best accommodations, see and do more, and totally enjoy their time!  There are approximately 100,800,000 plus+ US and international revelers, club members, vendors, and yes, sponsors out there who may want an opportunity to get involved with the fundraisers, practices, the dances, the crawfish boils, and much more.

This is also a terrific opportunity for advertisers to get ahead of the game,  expand their domain, and be seen in other markets, they also will be able to maintain a year around connection with those, who needs to know, who to see, before, during, and after, the festivals in all major markets. So, don't just sit there fiddling about what you could or should know or trying to think how you can reach, much less get to know all the people who put on Carnival. Sign up for the magazine and stay visible, all year and keep potential clients informed, by showcasing your new products, new employees, or the latest methods, and other business news so you can earn a larger share of the Carnival market.

  The Plan

All the usual information about the U.S. Carnivals, plus events, from reports, as they continue to unfold on the Gulf Coast during the off season, and of course, we'll include Mobile as we explore and include their krewes, where possible. There’ll be interviews and features on fitness, fashion and finance, safety, security issues, trends and sections devoted to travel, including information about coming  local events such as those in Kenner, Hammond, Lafayette and features about staying in New Orleans, Houston, Tampa, Pensacola, and other locales for visitors.

We have already test marketed and printed the digest format! Our test marketing of our magazines met with reasonable success? We will however, still continue to re-evaluating the size, with some slight format changes.

2010 & Beyond

It may take a over two (2) and a half years to bring the magazine to it's fully planned and developed state, but,

When this magazine is fully developed

It will tie in with the themes of coming Carnivals across the entire United States, when that stage is reached, then magazine will then be divided into six sections, of which three will correspond with the three colors of Mardi Gras, and the other three are categories of events that will form the core of  Mardi Gras, in major cities, in America. A brief summary of these planned sections and their provisional content follows below:

Section 1 - Purple
Featured Carnival Kings and Queens
Content: Interviews with confirmed royalty for the Mardi Gras Clubs, Krewes, and Org's in New Orleans, La, Mobile, AL. and the different cities as well as the non-parading organizations. Celebrity grand marshals and what they bring to the celebration. Bio's on  the reigning monarchs and what they are doing or plan to do in the upcoming months, in their respective kingdoms.

Section 2 -
