The Spartan Ball is amongst  the best. Admittance is by invitation only. But you may have a small chance to join the krewe for dinner so you can make the guest list this upcoming season. 

        August 08, 2007, ..............   Metairie, LA          For the past several years the Knights of Sparta,  have held periodic "Dutch Treat" dinners so that Spartans and Friends alike could get together for evenings of good food and fun. This year will be no exception, as the citizens of the city-state prepare to start the popular series of dinners, frankly designed for krewe fellowship.

In the world of Carnival Krewes this is just another example of how the top krewes stay active all year, bringing the members inside to not only bring them up to date on krewe issues, but to catch up on the summer activities that the members have just completed. Members will now get down to the business of finalizing the rest of the schedule for the krewe.  

 The first Sparta and Friends Dinner will be Saturday, August 18, 2007 - 7:00 p.m. - at, The Ho Ho Chinese/Japanese Buffet (in the shopping plaza at the corner of Airline Hwy. and Labarre Rd. - very near to Causeway and Airline) Let's all join them for an evening of relaxed fun, and hopefully you will be able to put in applications to this old and distinguished organization for membership in the coming months. Reservations are required!  The Sparta organization can be reached at 504-583-9773 - to inform the krewe that you will be joining the dinner. They will inform you at that time of how the prices are running for the event!
