New Orleans, Louisiana
......March 14, 2005 This week's main line, brought a good deal out in the
way of fashion. The club chose to use the color red to accent the members stark
initial beginning of Camouflage green and khaki.
When red or any other color is accented properly and in proportion
with the main color, the members can't help but be stylistically stunning.
The
one thing that made it really work for "Devastation", was the suits
the men wore was a total match up to what the women profiled. The club was well coordinated,
because even the shoes, socks and in one case the heels, matched the
outfits to a tee.
The biggest winning piece for the club, wasn't the suits, it was
the hats. The head covering of a derby for the men and Spanish affluent number
pictured above for the maids, simply set off the show.
The off white suits of the men's ensemble was balanced at all
points, which is important if you're going to go through the trouble of using a
loud color to accent an outfit. The men kept the suits in proportion yet also
managed to somehow cut the suit to fit even the smallest or the largest of the
group.
The scheme was simple, the Queen, Ms. Sylvia Shields, wore the
identical off or egg shell white and her majesty simply let her maids balance
her and the entire parade.

Red is a tough color to balance and not over do it. Devastation
proves not only that it can be done but that it can be done with style, and
subdued flair. The diamond studs really shows how little is needed to make a big
splash.
