This is the story of what the captain has accomplished over the years and a hint of where they might be going. Crowned King Sparta the XLIV, Darren Michael Vincent's rule by, most accounts, was one of Sparta's most  remembered. Main Line Clubs: Organized Achievement!

New Orleans, LA. ...... New Orleans African American community has had a lock on the Main Line for years. Metro New Orleans had a shock, when the Bayou Steppers, one of only two integrated clubs marched in 2004. Since that parade, the club is moving forward at breakneck speed to solidify its position.  [ Story ][ Features]

MAMGA                Zulu   These two club simply had a difference of opinion that got completely out of control during the 1940's. It was egged on the New Orleans and Mobile newspapers who were trying to drum up business we're sure! But that was enough to nearly get these two noble clubs into a fully blown culture war. Even today, with most of the participants dead, there is still bad blood between these two Carnival Krewes.  [ Story ]

African American Clubs: "Against all the Odds"

New Orleans, LA. ...... This coming season will mark a great milestone in the Krewes of New Orleans Metro. When it comes to African American Carnival Clubs there are, by all accounts, a lot of Clubs!  Never have there been such a number of almost unknown clubs around. Business Trends:

Disaster Recovery   

Pictured: The Mardi Gras Fountain on the Lake front sustained light to moderate damage.  It was just dedicated last Summer and was in new condition.

Hotels, retailers, entrepreneurs, schools and other businesses that are the keepers of Carnival are still trying to Recover fast enough to at least attempt the upcoming season. We give you a progress report on the business of Mardi Gras in detail very soon.
