The
Knights of Mobile, the Royal Order of George, will host their tenth
parade this coming season. They have traditionally followed the Floral
parade. The society will again introduce its lead float featuring King
George III, who was the English monarch when Mobile was a British
colony. The theme of Knighthood will be shown in the parade costumes
as visible history drops back in time from King George to that of King
Arthur's knight of the round table.
It
matters not that George was called the "Mad King", in his
own time. He will continue to reign as King along with his Queen
in the parade. Behind his lead float will come a full compliment of
knights, all in noble dress.
We will continue to inquire, so we can complete
this page.
The organization is currently headquartered in Mobile, Alabama,
which is on the east bank of
Mobile Bay.
