The Krewe of Aquila in Metairie, LA. has their new website for the beginning of the Season.  We would like to congratulate them on their new online look!  

 

 

 

Gretna May slowly be eliminating its Carnival parades! 

Poseidon was first, by their own hand. Then Ulysses. Now Gretna has eliminated Ulysses' day from the calendar. This puts Gretna in the spot of having a parade to run on a certain day. Is this a rebuild or is Gretna phrasing out Carnival? Our  sources say that Gretna is looking to totally eliminate the parades because of budget concerns.  We'll stay on top of it!

Who gets Listed as a Krewe!

 

The following perquisites are mandatory before any organization can be listed in the Official Digest roster.

1. The organization must be certified as a 501( c3) non-profit with an issued Federal tax I.D. number and a certificate from the secretary of the state in which it resides.

2. The organization must exist as an independent club, with it's assets separate and apart of any other organization's parade or activities.

3. The organization must meet the definition of Krewe as defined by the meaning set down by the Comus Organization of New Orleans, circa 1857.
