Are you giving us the credit We deserve?

We no longer allow others to republish many of our articles, and at this time I have records of over 2,000 of them and various images, all over the internet, on a few of the many sites. This is now a problem, as these articles are copyrighted, and others are now starting to use them in commercial ventures. The webmasters are taking articles and images and dropping them into their sites, which requires a deliberate action on their part to simply take copyrighted material as their own. Thus, the finished articles & images may have the same text but the formatting is very, different. While initially we wanted an open site that all could use, especially the education systems that were linked into the site, but now, there are those who are using our site to profit from our work! Therefore, the policy of this website has now changed from an open source to a closed source and will remain so for the foreseeable future. Educational sites, students and teachers are exempt from this policy change and your access to this site will remain unrestricted. The method of gaining a large number of incoming links, "I give you something (an article, i.e., content) and you give me something (a link back to my site) has been abused and is now discontinued. From this point forward, All articles and images must be linked to, they are not to be pulled off the site in any way. Do so and you risk legal action against you and your site. If your site is currently using our content, and wishes to
continued to do so, starting on 03-01-2005, you have 90
days to contact us via phone for a verbal ok, and we will email
you written permission from us to continue to display images and text. However,
this will only occur if you are prepared to link to us and give credit to the
site for the images and information.
We don't mind people using our content, as long as you ask! All you need to do is drop us an email or Call @ 504-756-9456 After all, we do place considerable time, money and effort into acquiring the content we place on the net. It's only right, that we expect, and ask for, the credit that should come along with the usage of our material. We also pay for the bandwidth you use when you steal from us as well! We do the background research, attend meetings, conduct interviews, and work hard to bring you the content we present. For accuracy, we verify rumors and other media stories we hear before we publish the facts. That is why we started this site. To bring to you to others, happenings during the year, that practically no one knew about. Others were barely scratching the surface. That's why we started this site to bring as much news as possible, to the public and help the krewes and other organizations survive and thrive. They can still do that with more publicity, and your support. Today we are still the only website that brings the most news, all real news, about the people, groups, and general conditions that will and do effect the celebration of Carnival and Mardi Gras Day each season, in and around New Orleans, and soon Mobile. There's still a lot of news out there that's not getting to the carnival goers. Our sole job is to get all the news, and get very in-depth knowledge on all subjects and to be just one more good source for news, history and in-depth features on Mardi Gras / Carnival." Some Websites for some reason, seem to think that they can just use other sites content, without giving them credit for the effort or the "borrowed content". All our content and our ideas, which are original, is copyrighted. Taking any image or text from our site, and it will now put you at risk of legal action, being taken against you. Even Google now asks before taking images from us! If they ask, we suggest you do as well. Don't chance, that you'll be the chosen one, to be made an example of. If you do the research and legwork, if you developed the resources and network that gives you the news and supplies the leads, then you deserve to have your name put up on your own content. To all other sites, don't steal our content, style and ideas. Just because we announce we're going to do something soon, isn't a green light to you to rush and do it first. I hate to tell some of you this, but when you rush things, often you get the idea wrong! Then perform it badly! If you use our content, all we ask, is that you please, link to the content, and at least give us the credit for digging up the info. Don't take it! Failing that, we'll soon have to stop this process all together. We wanted a clean and open site, we were hoping that we could count on you to help us keep that way, for the last time, please don't steal......Ask!
